Commodore 64

Date of Aquisition - 2012 or 2013

I purchased this at the Vintage Computer Festival in NJ in either 2012 or 2013 for around $20 or $30. It came with the box, power supply, and a photocopied manual

The power supplies are known to fail spectacularly where the 5v line will suddenly start sending out a voltage much higher than 5v, taking out any chips attached to the 5v line, so I rebuilt the power supply's internals using modern day components

I also built a Pi1541 which is a Commodore disk drive emulator based on the Raspberry Pi.

I purchased a 1541 floppy drive and a tape drive at a flea market for $2 a piece from someone untested, but I got them home and they both worked fine

Current specs are:
  • 1.023MHz OS Technology 6510 CPU
  • 64KB RAM
  • Commodore 1541 single-sided 170KB Floppy Drive
  • Commodore Datasette 1530 cassette deck
  • Serial Number: P2509811
